Irons have a push draw, woods have a push fade. help

I hit my irons fairly nice and they have a push draw that I have just learned to play. Up until midway through last year I only hit irons because I was a broke college kid and I never hit a driver very well. Last year my brother got some new woods so I got them gifted to me. They are a TM 540 9.5 deg with factory stiff graphite shaft and a TM vsteel 3 wood with factory stiff graphite shaft. I have been makinig good contact but the ball flight aint the best. I starts out with the same push and then just starts going right and right and right. I switched grips from locked pinkies to overlapped pinkies and that helped but still not good. Any reasons for the problems. If this helps. I hit TM rac LT with factory specs on TT DG w/sensicore S300. I am 23, 6'5", 220 lbs and hit the driver about 260 when I hit is straight. My brother is built about the same but swings alot faster (300 yds is average)

Sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean by a push draw...it's not possible. If you're right handed and the ball goes right, it's a push/fade/slice. If it goes left, it's a pull/draw/hook.

If you're mostly fading the ball you've got an open clubface at impact. If your ball flights starts out left of the target and moves right, then you've more than likely got an over the top swing with an open clubface.

What I mean by push draw is that I aim at a spot and the ball starts right of my intended taget like I pushed the ball but it draws back to the target. On a push fade the ball starts right of target and then fades even farther right. For the ball to start on the correct line I would have to aim 30-40 ft. left. Sorry if I am not using the right words here. I was thinking about it last night, I think I swing in to out with an open face on my irons. Is this correct? So would that mean I swing out to in with an open face with the woods?

thanks

This is generally known as a draw. It is caused by an inside out swing path and a square clubface at impact.

Square to target line or square to swing plane?

Just to add.

We know that your swing path is inside out which is good.

Generally people have a problem squaring the clubface of longer clubs. Check your grip and ball position for the woods and the driver.

Square to the target line.

If it was square to the swing path you would get a push.

I play the ball just inside my left arch with the driver and right in the middle for the 3W, all irons are played between my nose and my right shoulder depending on club. I am right handed. I noticed that the woods have larger grips. I asked him about it and he said they are a double wrap of tape under grip. would this be a problem.

thanks

The size of your grips affects wrist movement the larger the grip more restrictive it is to move your wrist. So yes this could factor into your "push fade" with your driver and woods. If your wrist are being restricted in their movement it will affect your ability to square the club face.

One thing I've learned in golf when it comes to how your body is positioned in terms of grip, setup, alignment, balance, foot position, hip angle, shoulder postion etc. EVERYTHING MATTERS!
