Ball positioning with Callaways ..

Hi all,
Just purchased a set of Cally X16 irons with steel shaft.
Been working them down the range over the last few days and seem to be hitting the shorter irons well 6 - SW but not so well with the longer clubs.
One thing I tried was altering the ball position towards my front foot a few inches. (I've always played the ball in the centre of my stance previously) This felt a little better with some good results. Does anyone have a set of
X16s and can they tell me how they play the ball through their set ?

I have X-16. I hit my long irons extremely well. I play the ball toward the front of my stance and get good distance and extremely good loft. However when I am hitting my irons off of the tee I like to put the ball more towards the middle of my stance I don't get as much distance but get higher loft that helps stick par 3's. It took me a while to be able to hit my long irons good I had to slow myself down a lot until I started striking the ball well then slowly speed it up.
