Two things that have turned my game around

I have learned 2 things in the last week or so that has turned my game around for the better. I thought I would pass them along and maybe it will help you as well.

1. Accellerate through the ball. My less than full swing shots were terrible before I put this into practice. I would always spray they ball off to the right or thin it across the green. Now I feel as if I'm taking a little less back swing on my chips and pitches than is needed which fools my brain into swinging through a little harder. I think that decelleration is a killer in in all types of shots but especially near the green and out of the sand.

2. When driving the ball imagine hitting it at it's 4 o'clock position. Meaning, as you address the ball as it sits on the tee looking straight down at it. This helps me make more of an inside out swing which extends my swing as well as catches the ball more flush. My drives have been straighter and I have added at least 15 yards to my drives.

Congrats on the 2 improvements.

I de-cel, have weight on the wrong foot sometimes, break my wrists, and get too "handsy" in the short game, but I am convincing myself that I will beat all of these problems this year.

I went to the Pelz short game school a few years ago, but I still find a slightly longer swing more comfortable to me than a shorter backswing with a full follow through.

I just need to find a confident swing and practice it until my hands fall off.

Congrats on the extra distance as well. The most important aspect is keeping the ball where you want it.
