I have just had my 25 year old irons checked for loft.
The outcome is strange.
Although they are old, they have never been mistreated and the changes in loft can only be down to normal wear and tear.
Heres what was done:-

1iron 24* to 16*
2iron left at 18*
3iron 27* to 20*
4iron 27* to 24* Lie changed by 2*
5iron 25* to 28*
6iron 35* to 32*
7iron 35* to 36*
8iron left at 40*
9iron 45* to 44*
Wedge 50* to 48*

The cost to have this done £10 ($18). Well worth it.

The pro's who play forge irons, have them checked every couple weeks, and less if they play on firm conditions.

A 1 iron used to be 24*? Man, I guess that goes to show you how distance focused companies have become these days. Isn't todays 3 or 4 iron 24*?
