First Tournament...

My job is having a tournament on Thursday for some of their retailers. I've been taking lessons for a couple of weeks and have learned a lot from my coach. Last week two of my friends and I went and played 11 rounds of golf & I actually did okay on some of the shots. Then we went today on our lunch to play three holes and I absolutely ******....
I learned one thing for sure..I play better golf when I'm OR I just think I play better.

Seriously, I have a really hard time following through on my swing. Do you know of anything that can help me? Thanks.

You can get a donut (small round weight covered in rubber) and slide that onto your club and swing it around - or you could just hold two clubs together and swing them. The momentum should be enough to force you to complete your swing. When you do follow through, make sure you're pointing at your target.

Thank you. I will try that.

I was looking at the names and handicaps of the people that are going to be playing in the tournament tomorrow....the numbers are 12's, 15's and 25's. Then there I am on the bottom with a 35. (They only gave me that handicap since I've never played a full game. I'm sure I'm a lot worse). I want to play good, but if I screw up I can only laugh at myself (along with everyone else.)

You can either get mad at yourself , or laugh it off . Remember, golf is just a game. Besides, you'll have plenty of time to get mad when you start playing better.

A friend of mine is kind of interested in playing golf, so I told him, "the better you get at it(golf), the harder it gets."

I don't drink very often so when I do, it hits me a little faster than normal. I was wondering why the guys were asking me to be on their team tomorrow--(I knew it's wasn't because I'm a good golfer). They told me they have a bottle of hot **** ready for me. As for the --that's not for me. I'm like Clinton, I don't inhale.

Since I work and don't get off until 6 and my friends didn't get off until 7, we got started late and the golf course closes at dark....That is why we only played 11 holes.

"IT" got dark, or were you starting to black out from ? That is one way to shoot a lower score - playing less holes.
