Had my lesson with a pro today...

I did okay. He found my major, major flaw. I'm not keeping my shoulders level throughout my swing, meaning I dip my shoulders causing a huge divot and the club face closed. Finally I found the reason why I can never get the ball into the air! :) Most of the time the ball would be into the air and I would hit the ball 150 with my 7 iron with very little effort! Really a Breakthrough with me. Problem is keeping my shoulders level.

Kepping my shoulders level is really tough for me. I'm also a hockey player, and in hockey you dip your shoulder on slap-shots so you the puck low to the ground. Unforntunately, that doesn't seem to work in golf. :(

What kind of drills are there to keep my shoulders level and keep me from dipping them all the time?

You need to be able to maintain you spine angle. Work on your setup and posture. Make sure you are in an athletic stance with your knees slightly bent and posture straight (not hunched over and shoulder are not rounded). Easiest way is to look in a mirror to see if you achieved that stance. As you practice your stance, make a shoulder turn and concentrate on maintaining your spine angle.

Thanks, I'll have to try that later.

Also what I helps me know if I dip my shoulders is my left knee will bend in towards my right knee. That means that I've dipped my shoulders and don't have a good spine angle (like you mentioned).

On the backswing, your weight will shift to your backleg. That backleg should not sway back. Your frontleg knee should actually moves forward. If your knees / legs move laterally, it makes it harder to keep your spine angle. If you look at most of the tour pros, the lower half of their bodies are so steady, it's unreal.
