HELP...Duck Hook!

I have always hit my driver consistently straight and long. Until last week driver was the strength of my game. All of a sudden I developed a massive duck hook and the ball barely gets in the air. Any thoughts or opinions on why this could be happening and how to correct it? Thanks!

more than likely, your tempo was out of whack and were too quick at the start of your swing and on the start of the down swing, mainly, the down swing. happens to me too. when i jump on it and don't mean to, it's duck hook city. i wouldn't make any changes until you can rule this out. i think you'll find that's all it is.

mikey300 is right. your hands are getting way ahead. You are not alone. It all feels right but when you make contact all that happens is a thud.

Keep your hands in front of your chest during the downswing and release.

Just slow everything down. I can't remember which pro said it, but it went something like....."Quick hooks come from quick swings"

Thank you guys, it is so frustrating to see this happen. Not a problem with the irons, just driver.

Glad I read this post. I was in a driving groove until my last two times out. I normally hit a slight draw but started seeing the ball drawing harder and harder and has now turned into a full blown hook. Like you the irons are fine. I've tried everything to shake it, weakened the grip to the point I couldn't see any knuckles, changed stance, started club way out side and nothing worked. I'll be trying ' the slow it down approach next' hoping like **** it works. Good luck to you as well Briguy.
