shooting my hips

i have had the problem where i get to the top of my swing and my hips get to the ball before anything else, this has lead to lower ball flight and horrible play with the driver, just wondering if anyone had any tips on how to delay the hips, at this point they are very hard to slow down.

The thing that has helped me the most on this is a) have a very relaxed swing, and b) concentrate on pulling the end of the clubdown on the start of the backswing. This will allow your upper body to start the downswing and should help from letting your hips run away on the swing.

Think about turning the shoulders, that will help you get through it and alleviate getting stuck on the downswing.

Move your back foot behind your front foot a bit at address. Line up the middle of your back with the heel of your front. This works.

I had a similar problem and my coach told me to think of it more like a swing then turn......kind of like swing your arms and let that pull you the rest of the way through, hard to explain but once you find it you wont be blowing everything off the tee OB....

Good Luck
