i know how my setup should be when i hit my driver and when i hit my irons. but when i setup for my woods im really clueless there. do i set it up more like my driver which is placing the ball close to my left foot or do i place the ball in around the middle like my irons?????

The fairway woods should be played in the middle of your stance or alittle forward of middle. You want to catch the ball at the bottom of the swing.

I respectfully disagree. You want to be near the bottom of your swing, but the bottom of the swing is closer to the target than middle of the stance and it is more than a just little forward of the middle.... Remember that unlike the iron swing there should be no appreciable divot (with irons the bottom of the swing is closer to the target than the ball, hence the divot in front of where the ball once was) .. I would say, take your grip with your club in front of you, then freely drop it on the ground, and take it from there..

Experiment and play whichever gives you the best and most consistent results...I play mine just forward of the middle of my stance and sweep the ball and I do great off the deck....Every player is different...

Good Luck!

With the driver you want to play the ball just off your left heel like:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...q=driver+swing

With your fairway woods you want to play the ball either off your left heel or just slightly behind. This way you'll promote a sweeping motion with the ball rather than hitting down on it. Here is a site that explains a little:

http://www.learnaboutgolf.com/beginn.../lesson12.html

This also is a good read and has a picture for recommended ball postions:
