In my swing my club is laid off at the top with a closed clubface. About 55-60 percent in the backswing, my hands are rather inside, which I think is leading to this position at the top. If anyone has any reasons on why im laid off at the top with the closed clubface, thatd be great.
there could be many reasons, without seeing your swing, it would only be a guess, you can get yourself in the proper position by doing this: first ,while in your stance, with your wrists only ,bring the slub paralell with the ground, the butt end should be pointing down the target line and the toe of the club should be pointing straight up. now, all in in moton, arms and chest together, bring the club to the top. you now should be in the perfect position, if your not, then you need to work on flexability and you can use that drill as an exercise and also can be used for your golf swing if desired.
ps. check your posture, flat back, chest out, chin up. firm but slightly bent knee. hope this helps. mike
generally, too much shoulder turn will put you across the target line. this sounds like a spine angle problem. click on this link and then click on profiles. watch, learn and copy, this should help. http://www.golftipsmag.com/content/index_videotips.html

Might be your left arm breaking down (for a right handed golfer). Try keeping your left arm straight. Another way to keep your left arm straight is to try to keep your hands as far away from your head as can be.
With that top of swing I am assuming your problem shots are:
(1) hooks
(2) block right..
