irons good, woods bad/woods good, irons bad

Does anyone else have this? When my irons are good, my woods are bad and vice versa. This has been going on forever and I'm sick and tired of it. But I don't know what causes it or how to fix it. I have asked my pro, but if he knows the answer, he hasn't told me.

I have two drastically different swings for irons and woods/driver.

My very steep, upright swing translates great in my irons - but I have to flatten things out and slow down to hit my driver or fairways straight.

Some days the both work, some one or the other and unfortunately some days neither.

On one of my best days for both swings recently - my putter got lost and and I shot an even 90 with 38 strokes from the flatstick

Nothing like 3-putting for bogey over and over again.

That is why we all love this game, every round is a new challenge.
