caddy help

Do you replace a divot in the rough? What if its a monster sized divot?

Do you rake the trap if the ball leaves marks in the sand, but gets out.

Is it alright to put the flagstick down on the green? You can on the course i play, is it the same everywhere els?

Thanks for the help.

No. No.
No. (Never thought about it. But will start raking.)
Yes. Just don't lay it down where someone putting can see it.

Haven't been doing this. Actually, I never even thought about it before. Guess I'll start doing that though. (Just one more reason to curse when shots go in the rough.)

Yes, but it doesn't happen all that often. Usually if it hits the sand, if buys a condo.

On the handful of courses I play on a semi-regular basis, it's ok to put the flag on the green as long as you lie it down gently.

I'm from northwest Florida and we use a sand/seed/fertilizer mix whenever and whereever a divot is taken. A ball running through a bunker rarely leaves a big enough mark to be of concern, but if there's a question it should be raked. I place a flagstick at least 15 feet from the hole, whether it's on the green or the fringe. Either place is OK as long as it doesn't interfere with anyone's shot.

I went out caddying today, carrying a bottle of fertilizer mix, as I went along every divot I saw I would try to find the grass that went to the divot or just fill them with the mix. I was with one of the courses professional so I kind of had to. But you should take care of the course, plus it makes you look good.
