closed face at top

it seems no matter what i try, my clubface is always closed at the top. no matter what grip, or even if i try and rotate it open all throughout the backswing, it is always closed at the top, anyone have any ideas on what it could be?

A closed face at the top of the swing is usually when the back of the right hand is facing the ground when you grip the club. You need to cover the thumb of your left hand with your right if this is the case. That will keep your right hand working with the club face. The left hand being turned too far to the right can also close the face, but you said "no matter what grip" so this might not be it. The club can also get closed at the top of the swing if you permit the left wrist to collapse into a reverse cup position.Do any of these describe your situation? It will be easier to help with more information.

I used to have this problem. Having a closed clubface with my driver at the top resulted as a hook all the time, as I was coming into the ball closed at impact. Threefeathers is right, the only problem with me though, was that my right hand on the grip was too far round to the right. (Hookers Grip), ensure that the gap between your thumb and finger point towards your right shoulder when gripping the club. This does feel weird at first, and you may push a few out to the right to begin with, But it will settle in and you will be Getting your club more straight at the top

Hope this helps Sir.
