Polarized Lenses

I went to Europtics the other day in search of a new pair of glasses and began to wonder whether I should get polarized lenses or not. Polarized lenses are typically prefered for fisherman since they help fight the glare on the water but I was wondering how much of a difference they can make in reading the greens. I will probably take them off on the putting greens anyway, but typically if you are a golfer, would you go with polarized lenses or not?

I have Oakley polarized I play with and have to say that it doesn't really help out in terms of green reading but really help out in terms of eye fatigue and ball tracking. And since they are my everyday glasses, they also make a big difference when driving among other things.

I agree 100%. I switched to polarized Oakley's a few years back, and I won't buy or wear anything else. My eyes are very sensitive to the sun, and even on overcast days, I have to wear sunglasses or I get bad headaches. I also feel that the polarization doesn't help with the greens, and I usually have to take them off to properly read greens, but that doesn't bother me much. It really is unbelievable how much the polarization cuts the glare and keep your eyes from squinting.

It may sound strange, but I have found that you can actually see better when it is raining hard with the polarized glasses since it cuts the glare which actually allows you to see through the haze....... I'm with you though, I'll never switch back to normal lenses
