Question about driver

As a new golfer, do you think it is a good idea to bring my driver on the course, or should I save it for the driving range until I get a little more experienced?

If it were me, I'd get some work in on the range first, and if I thought I had it somewhat under control, then I'd work it in on the course. Mind you, not every par 4 and 5 on the course is going to be a hole to hit driver on. Even if you do get it to where you feel somewhat comfortable with the big dog, use it on the holes with the least amount of trouble.

I believe in carrying 14 clubs...That doesn't mean you should use all 14. The truth is, not using a club (like the Driver) is a matter of discipline and course management. It is a part of the game you need to learn as well. Take the club with you...Use it when you're ready.

All depends on how you hit it...I agree with feathers though...maybe hit a 3wood then a second ball with driver to see how it plays...it will only make you better....(make sure it is a quiet time on the course)

On the practice range find out which of your "metals" are the most accurate. I've seen beginners hit 3 or 5 wood off the tee to keep the ball in play. If your club offers a beginners clinic (many do in the summer), it would be an excellent way to let a teaching pro have a look at your swing for relatively few bucks. Good luck. I hope you stay with the game.
