Question gap wedge question

i hit my pitching wedge 100 to 110 yards,my sandwedge shots have very high trajectory so only go about 70 yards,i am happy with this high hit as stops nicely, the trouble is that sometimes i,m 80 or 90 yards out and stuck with three quarter pitch wedge,i prefer the full shot,my friend said i could get a gap wedge,my irons are mcgregor irons and don,t have degree markings on them, could anyone tell me,what degree loft my pw and sw are likely to be and and also the degree loft that of a gap wedge

If you have a local repair shop, simply take your PW and SW to them and ask them to check the lofts. They can do it very easily for you, then you can determine a prefered GW loft. If, for example your PW is 48° and your SW is 56°, you can choose a GW at 50°, 51° or 52°. Good luck!

As an alternative method, hold your SW and the PW clubhead faces face down on the edge of a table, with the shafts off the side pointing down towards the floor. You can visualize quite easily the difference in the angle.

Do this at a golf shop and you can place a GW between them to determine a suitable angle somewhere between the two.
