I have that too! My left shoulder "clunks". Youre right, it never hurts. I worry though, maybe it will hurt in the long run?

I do on my right shoulder near my scapula - from a really nice mountain bike accident (right under the chairlift, no less). It does not hurt but I can make it pop.

Not my shoulder but my wrists on the backswing. A solved the problem by taking cod liver oil tablets (Seven Seas) which help keep the joints supple. There was a new product by the same company which I tried and was quite good. It is called sportflex. Again is to help with flexibilty for people involved in sport.

Sounds like a rotator cuff problem, very common in sports such as baseball, and golf. I have the same problem from lifting weights , and golf. I have occasional sharp pains , but thats from lifting 70 lb dumbell presses on each shoulder.

heres a site thatll explain

I have this same condition also from an accident. It sounds identical because I can also make mine pop which I now do when stretching before teeing off on the first hole. I was curious if you had ever had yours examined by a doctor. Mine doesn’t hurt either but my wife wants me to go to the doctor and have it checked out. So far I have resisted at least until the off season in case surgery is prescribed.

Sorry to hear about your problem, and that it is annoying you! Can you at least use it somehow for your swing? E.g. by stopping short of the clunk (not overswinging), or by triggering the downswing with it (improving tempo).

no i never saw a doctor, and USING it to help my swing makes a lot of sense....i have recently been using a shorter backswing and driving thru the ball with more acceleration to get more distance...lets see....

Since it does not hurt, I have not bothered to have it checked out. I'll probably pay for it later in life, though.
