The Inner Game of Golf

Has anyone here read this book? How did you like it? Did you learn anything from the book, implement anything from the book into your practice or your game? Did you get better? Anything you learned from the book that you found especially helpful and that you could share?

Very good book! Get it! The counting during your swing (to quiet your mind, not for tempo) is the best thing ANYONE could probably do.

In fact, after starting my post about swing thoughts, I remembered this book and plan to put it to use when I play again.

I have. I picked it up for a buck at a rummage sale. I've only read the first two chapters though, and was wondering what other GR members thought of the book. So far it appears to be pretty good.

I'm going to dig mine up and re-read it. As I said, the one two three is probably something everyone shoud do.

I have it...good book...biggest benefit was the contemplation about the subject, the fact that mental preparedness plays such a big role in golf...

I thought it was a great book - two excellent ideas.

1. the timing "back, hit" (I can't remember 1,2,3) which he based on his tennis coaching days; and,

2. putting looking at the hole as well as practicing putting with the eyes closed.

The key is that he gets one to ignore the "fore brain" interfering in the execution of a golf shot.

Exactly what I was speaking of.
