Driver Problems

I have 2 problems with my driver.

1) When I setup, my driver faces the target while my feet end up aligned to the right of the target. Whenever I try to setup my feet square to the target it feels like I am aimed waaay left. Is this something I need to get used to?

2)Every time I tee it up I hit it on the heel. I can't get a video of my swing until later, but can anyone give me some things I should work on?
Also, before I was hitting it in the sweet spot and then all of a sudden I started hitting it on the heel.

Thanks,

You might have a posture issue. Try sticking out your rear a little and have the weight on the balls of your feet. You might be standing to tall or the weight on your heels.

do you have a straight ball flight or do you hit a draw? i line up with an open stance and kind of like you, when i square my feet to my target i feel like i'm way right. if you're getting the ball flight you want, no worries imo.

if you're hitting off the heel, something you might want to play around with is the distance between you and the ball. try lining up with the ball off the toe of your driver. probably not the best fix, but it might help you catch a few more.

Ball flight is a low draw. But I really want to change this to a straight/penetrating trajectory. I guess I should square my feet to the target and get used to 'that' feeling.

And I've definitely tried lining up the ball on the toe. It still catches on the heel though. The distance between me and ball is kind of hard to fix because I am pretty short (5'5"). If I get too close I'm too upright and then if too far I'm too bent over. Maybe I can get the shaft shortened?

First, almost everyone wants a straight penetrating ball flight. Something my dad taught me is you will always feel like you're aiming too far left when properly aligned. It took me a a long time to trust this concept, but now I'm the in the fairway most of the time.

I think shots on the heel mean you're too close to the ball, you want to have full extension and power through the ball with the driver.

it makes sense that you would be hitting a draw lined up facing right. The way to get rid of that is to force yourself to straighten out. I have the exact opposite problem and it has been uncomfortable and a struggle to force myself to line up straight as much as an open stance feels natural.

Cool

Have you throught of taking a lesson from a good golf instructor? That would be my advice. I can't see your setup, nor your swing, and neither can anyone else on this site, so fixing your problem would be hard to do over the net. Proper set position, with your feet, hips, and shoulders square to the target line would be a good start. Do your arms hang straight down at address? or are your hands inside or outside of your shoulders? They should be right below your shoulders, so your arms are hanging straight down.
