I have this little problem currently happening in the middle of my swing and I cant figure it out. Apparently on the way down Im shutting the face way too hard and way too fast. It has really affected my play and I mean ive gone from low 80s to high 80s due to this snap hook occurence! Is there a way I can fight this without having to see the slice?
1. Is your grip way too strong? Make sure your left hand isn't turned over so far that the back of your hand is facing the ball at address. You should not be able to see the knuckle on your little finger.
2. Are you taking it back way shut? Halfway back you want the toe of the club pointing towards the sky. Make sure the face of the club isn't still pointed at the ground halfway back.
If you're in the right position at the top, with a proper grip, it should be quite difficult to turn the club over so quickly that all you hit are snappers.
Hi Omar; one reason for hitting a snap hook, as you're doing, is trying to hit the ball too hard. Try to relax and just swing easy. Your club head speed will be just a high, if not higher, and you'll hit the ball farther. And straighter.
As par minus 6 says, check your club is pointing to the sky halfway up,i use what you are doing deliberately to hook the ball,i exaggerate turning of hands and perhaps you are doing this,if i use hands to hook ball then it must be smooth and slow as fast swing gives snap hook,i would,nt recommend slowing down as you would just be doing the wrong thing slower and get hook as opposed to snap hook, practise getting the club arriving at ball square,do very slow backswing and very slow motion downswing and stop at ball and have a look at club and see if its square, there is also a possibility that you have an in to out swing along with closed clubface,i got a friend to film my swing on his mobile and i could see blatantly what i was doing wrong,so give that a try as so often we are not swinging as we think we do which is why even the pros get some instruction.
I dont know man whats the problem im starting to think its the club because I took out the old Ignite and with the same swing I was hitting 260 right down the throught.
Sounds like sticking with the Ignite is the sensible thing to do. It's sometimes good to go to the range and just try hitting the ridiculous opposite of your problem shot. By which I mean if you're struggling with a snap hook, swing it way outside to in and hold off your hands like you're trying to hit a 60 yard cut. If you can do that, your hands can get used to feeling how different shots feel. From there, not snapping your hands closed early should feel more natural. Or at least you should understand better what your hands are doing in the process.

I doubt it's the club, but if that club is giving you the confidence to hit better shots, more power to you. If you're hooking it, your clubface is closed, period. If you're not hooking it with the other driver, the clubface is not closed at impact with that driver for whatever reason.
It is probably a mental thing, when you hit the ignite you probably have more confidence than hitting the other club. That or your grip is way to strong, you want to see 2-3 knuckles on your left hand when you grip the club.
figured it out im suprised I havent already pointed it out. There is a feeling I get with my shoulders and arms when I know I've reached the optimum backswing for the best results. I started feeling that again in my last round after the first hole and easy enough to say wouldve shot a 38 if it wasnt for that 8 on the first. If I rush the swing it becomes a snap hook because the club gets ahead of the hands. Now I dont let the club see its "shadow"!
It works 250-270 down the heart of the fairway but the traject is still a little low but it was great to see it work!
