Exclamation I can't get it up!

All of the sudden I'm hitting my driver extremely low.

It's still going pretty far but not nearly as far as it should/would if it would get more than ten feet off of the ground.

Any ideas as to what I should look for?

Off the top of my head, you are teeing it up too far back creating a punch shot or you are teeing it up too low.

Thanks.

I should have mentioned that I'm not teeing it up to far back or too low. Those were the first two things I checked.

I also checked my weight distribution as well.

It's gotta be something in my swing....so frustrating!

Have you been drinking too much beforehand?

On a (slightly) more serious note, is it just with your driver, or is it happening with other clubs also?

Yeah, just the driver. 3-wood, hybrid, irons.....they're all fine.

Maybe I'm leaning forward????

you also could be compensating for a bad swing path. Having the coordination to close the clubface at impact enough to make up for it. This will create a low ball, because you are hooding the shot almost.

Hmmmm, you might be onto something there, my friend.

I was having some fade issues and I was working on it. So you might be right on the money.

Ok, time to break out the video camera and tri-pod.

Thank you, everyone!!

BTW- dieter, get your mind out of the gutter, dude!

Good advice...you might consider a less-provocative title next time as well.

Sorry 'bout that, I couldn't resist. It was just too perfect of a set up.

Something else you might try that has worked for me in similar situatons: swing at about 3/4s of your normal speed. I was gettting my hands too far in front of the clubhead and was delofting everything. Slowing down let the club get the ball in the air properly and my drives gained about 10 yards from better impact in the sweet spot.

My first guess that you are projecting your iron swing on the drive swing. Try to sweep more and extend the club beyond the tee.
Set up two tees about 1 foot apart. Tee up the ball on the back tee. After contact try to hit the front tee (you won't be able to but it will make you extend).
Make sure you aren't chicken winging (I cannot see the swing so don't get defensive).
Good luck.

Thanks, Bob and Billyg!

I will try those suggestions tonight when I hit the range.

It's also kind of funny because I'm hitting the sweet spot about as sweet as you can get. I rub the ball marks off of the face after every few balls.
