Putting: Any problem against putting with just one hand?

I feel more comfortable with putting with just my right hand. My distance and feel is better. Is there any problem with doing that? It seems like the left hand just gets in the way.

Well, if it works for you, who is anyone to say it's wrong?!

Putting with only my right hand works very well for me also (I am a right-handed player). I do not use in on the course, but I use it in practice. If you do it enough it may very well help you find the correct 2-handed putting motion. I saw recently that Tiger uses right-hand-only putting in his practice also.

I putt five to ten balls with each hand as a warm up before playing a round. It seems to help get both hands on the right track.

I have changed my routine this year for putting.

As opposed to what I was doing last calendar year, where I would putt 5-10 balls, I would walk around the practice green and drop the ball from various locations.

I think it helps me get a feel for putting to different distances which would translate to better feel when actually playing (ie you don't get a second chance at a putt).

Hey if your making putts, do it up man!!! I think the long ones you would be ok, but the short ones might get a little crazy....
