Training aids
Are there any good training aids out there that actually work. I've seen some infomercials of training aids, such as the medicus, the inside approach, etc. Are any of them worth the money?
My main problem is my slice. When i take a slow swing with my driver i can hit the ball nice and straight but it only goes 200 yards. Would you guys recommend? just keep doing the slow swing until i progressively get a faster club head speed, or do you think i should aquire a training aid of some sort?

A friend of mine had a Momentus, and while it didn't perform miracles, I thought it did do a lot of good improving my tempo, which helped me hit straighter...

Steveo,
you suffer from what every golfer in exsistance has gone through at one time or another-when you slow down your swing your using your body and balance as a complete unit, as soon as you try to speed up, your arms begin to work independently of the rest of your body-arms ahead=casting,slicing,etc..
As far a training aid to help with that, the Swing Jacket might help with keeping your arms positioned correctly-it looks silly but it wont let you "throw" your arms away form your body. I say just practice your swing with a smooth tempo, keep your arms compact, and once you shift your weight to the target-SWING AWAY!!!

i've been trying to pay alot of attention to my swing lately such as weight transfer, keeping my left arm straight(it always collapsed before), keeping my head down. It's pretty hard adjusting everything at once but i figure it's better now that way i can narrow down the problems in my game.

I had the same concerns as you and was about to buy the "Inside Approach" but I didnt want to pay the $80USD for it .. so I built my own for about $10, I haven't taken it to the range yet. I have tried it in the backyard and it does seem to help address some issues in my swing. If you need a hand building one please feel free to contact me.
