also having trouble with my irons......

I also bought new irons to go a long with my driver, taylormade r5 xl from dicks. cannot get any distance and i keep duffing. i played better with my other cheaper set for 3 years and my game has gone way down since my purchase of these clubs. help!!!!

new clubs take some time to adjust to. it took me about 4 weeks of going to the range twice a week to get used to mine.

Not getting any distance with driver or irons. Sounds to me that now you have new equipment you might be trying just a bit too hard to produce the perfect swing/strike. Try to loosen your grip a little, relax and swing real easy. I'm sure you will play better with these new clubs when you get your tempo back. Hope this helps.

i think my grip might be messing me up kevan, i grip with all my fingers with both hands, no overlapping.

What i try to do when something in my swing is amiss is exaggerate various variations. In your case, i would try to stand way longer from the ball, way closer, and move the ball around in my stance. See if you can go from duffing to topping the ball, then its merely a question of adjusting properly

i've tried moving around and everything.....maybe a mental problem haha?? i tend to think that the shot is going to be a failure before i ever hit it, but chipping 50 yards in...i never have any problems...good solid shots my favorite
