? About wide soles

I have the Adams GT-3 Irons 5-lob, very wide sole clubs. I am have trouble with my lob wedge, with soft flop shots. Would i be better off with a lob wedge with less bounce? Or just learn with the new clubs? Other than that i love the wide sole clubs. David

I use a 52 Degree Gap wedge with a 6 bounce for close in shots from the short stuff. I use a high bounce regular sand wedge for the deeper stuff and sand close to the green. I also bump and run with my 9 Wood every chance I get and use a putting stroke with it. I don't like a high bounce club on delicate shots.

Re: ? About wide soles

The best thing to do is learn when to use the flop. If you on a tight lie then lower bounce is required but the difficulty is still great. flops are generally used from grassy or fluffy lies when the bounce will help prevent you from sticking. I know Pelz says you need this in your arsenal but it is a shot that has to be practiced alot to have any great success. Certain courses require it to save a bad approach but I generally only have to flop a shot maybe once every three rounds. There are other ways of getting the ball up and close than flopping but again it takes practice just a lot less than a flop and your misses won't be as bad, either.
