The best thing to do is learn when to use the flop. If you on a tight lie then lower bounce is required but the difficulty is still great. flops are generally used from grassy or fluffy lies when the bounce will help prevent you from sticking. I know Pelz says you need this in your arsenal but it is a shot that has to be practiced alot to have any great success. Certain courses require it to save a bad approach but I generally only have to flop a shot maybe once every three rounds. There are other ways of getting the ball up and close than flopping but again it takes practice just a lot less than a flop and your misses won't be as bad, either.
