Re: Low Hooks?
Check your ball position. Could be too far back in your stance. Also, you are more then likely not increasing the loft on the woods as you should during your setup. Feet together club behind the ball, ball in the center of your feet. For a 4 iron and below, it should be the right foot that moves first and it moves to the right and the hands must move back with the shift, (clubhead stays put) thereby, increasing and putting the proper loft on the club, in this case it would be adding loft. For clubs above the 4 iron, during the setup, feet together, ball in the middle of feet, the player should move his left foot forward first, letting their hands move forward with the shift, thereby, decreasing the loft of the club, i.e., making/turning a 5 iron into 4 iron. Dropping the right foot back first and letting your hands, (leave the clubhead where it is, just behind the ball) come back with you will increase the loft and stop the low hooks. Most people do not know that a Driver is not made to get the ball up in the air, they are make for a person to put the correct loft on the club by using this proper setup. If your right shoulder is too high, (in the setup) your downswing release point causes a closed and hooded clubface. Make sure you have the same Professional shoulder tilt, that they have, which is one of the five major differences between them and non-pros. That tilt keeps them behind the ball, and the right shoulder down through impact and also keeps the proper loft on the club, before, at, and though impact.
