Arms to torso angle at address

Have you ever heard about keeping the same arms-to-torso angle at address for all clubs? Arms-to-torso angle is the angle at address between your arms and your torso. It depends on how close your hands are to your body at address. It would allow the use of the same arms-to-torso swing geometry or "groove" for all clubs. Does anybody work on that?

I don't see how one could do that. I know I sure don't.

Re: Arms to torso angle at address

You can work on it by measuring the distance between your hands and body. If the distance isn't too far, you can do it with your right hand while the left hand is left holding the club. (for right handers) Configure your right hand to fit between the little finger of the left hand and the closest point on your body. If the distance is bigger than your hand, then you have to measure with something else. If you keep this angle the same, then theoretically you can use the same swingplane for all shots, relative to the torso.

I don't think about it. I try to just let the arms hang down without trying for a specific angle and that is where I grip the club. I think trying for a specific angle would just get in my head too much.
