Re: How to Increase Swing Speed?

If you are 6 foot 5, isn't a 44 inch driver shaft awfully short for you? I would think that using a longer shaft would generate a lot more head speed

I would also look at getting a longer shaft I am 5' 10'' and I swing a 46 inch shaft so I would think that a longer shaft would help.

Also, may think about your flexibility the more turn you can get the more coil you have and this will lead to more power.

No, it actually feels like I have much more control over the club. I hit the sweet spot more often, gain more distance and am more accurate.

The average tour player's drive is 44.5 inches. Frank Thomas, among many others, recommends that the driver for the recreational golfer be between 43 and 44 inches.

Sure you get more clubhead speed with a longer driver, but how often does one hit the sweet spot? I would rather hit my ball consistently in play than have that one-in-thirty booming drive, and the rest in the rough or OB.

Thanks for your suggestions regarding the radar device. It does look interesting.
