Im now push/slicing it after a tip i tried from ernie els. He said to feel almost like throwing your legs at the ball during the downswing to get extra distance, and i tried it. 2 drive straight right into the trees, 1 more sliced.
Is the cause im not rotatating and just sliding my hips, or what? help appreciated.
Sliding of the hips is the obvious problem. You need to have a good swing as to what Els is saying (Don't worry, i'm not saying you have a bad swing) but the fact is, trying this could lead to many faults.
My suggestion, if you're going to be trying this tip, try snapping into the ball earlier using your ''cocked'' wrists on the downswing. You'll need all the power you can get for the clubface to be square at impact.
actually, im only 16, and most people say they I have one of the nicest swings they've seen. But yeah, thanks, i thought that was the problem, i also think i wasnt getting a big enough turn either.

I suppose turning could appose as a situation. Turning more will help you to get your weight behind the ball, therefore you wont be as much through at impact.
But I really suggest snapping into the ball more with your wrists, honestly, doing this not only straightens up the clubface, but my God it sure gets nice trajectory this way.
Hope this helps anyway buddy, it what GR is all about, right!?
Blocking it dead right are you? Sounds like you did something very typical, over-cooked something you heard, read, or worse, seen on TV. Here is a good tip. Quit taking tips from people who have never seen your swing or know anything about you.
My advice is goi back to what you were doing before.
Another good tip, is to pretend you are throwing a ball into the ground from the top of your backswing down to te point of contact and releasing the ball, this promotes the forward movement and if you consciuosly try to get everything through, you will find that it is very much like a golf swing
SLIDING your hips will tend to cause a HOOK, not a slice.
Openning up your hips with a twisting action is more likely to cause the slice.
The problem with these tips is that the work ONLY for the person giving the tip. There are too many other factors involved and the thing Ernie doesn't know is that you don't have proper upper body motion to compliment the lower body.
When you try to fire your legs, you're also spinning out your right shoulder.
THIS is what you want...(notice the right shoulder)
Try these steps to cure your slice. It's really basic set up stuff but try it and see if it helps.
1. Your clubface could be too open. Check your Aim:
2. If your hands are twisted too far round to the left of the grip, this is a weak grip. When you swing through the ball the club is opening imparting spin, causing slice. Check your Grip:
3. You may have the ball too far forward in your stance, this could cause your shoulders to open.
4. Your whole set up is probably aiming too far left of the target causing your club to make an 'out to in' swing path. Check your set up.
You can upload a video you record onto a free hosting site, there are plenty out there. As per the distance from the hips you are sliding as mentioned before, its supposed to be an explosion from the impact to the follow through. Where you hips will explode toward the target line. This of course is supposed to be natural and not forced ^^
