Re: HELP! Stack and Tilt swing: Duck hooking the driver with the
I'd say: try a more horizontal swing with the driver. With S&T, if your driver motion is too steep or out-to-in, instead of a slice you'll often get a hook. By the way, S&T is a one plane type of swing, so keep the shaft on the same plane.
Overswing is often bad, but it's particullarly bad for S&T, so check if you're overswinging. The following tip also worked for me: slow down the take off and smoothly accelerate through downswing until impact. S&T can generate an excessive, uncontrolled swing speed.
Finally, check if there's enough shoulder rotation.
In summary, some possible remedies are:
- More horizontal/plane, i.e. less steep swing.
- Rotate shoulders (ignore this if you're already doing it).
- One plane swing: shaft keeps on the same plane during take off and follow through.
- Slow down the take off, smoothly accelerate through down swing until impact.
