Heeling Shots

First off i should say i am a new user to this site. I am a very solid player with a lot of amateur and college golf experience. My Handicap is +3 and I am a relatively long hitter that draws the ball. My problem is i tend to heel alot of shots with pretty much all my clubs. I am a real heavy set guy and i thought maybe this was causing me to do this. I cant figure it out. I stand about the same or a little farther away than most people from the ball. At address i line the ball up on the toe and still heel it. Some days are better than others where i can go out and shoot 64 with only 1 or 2 shots that are heeled, but then i can heel every shot and still shoot well. I am just looking to hit the ball consistently in the center of the face.
Please Help!!

Re: Heeling Shots

I am not sure but it sounds to me like you are swinging too much out to the right or in a straight line after impact. Going through the ball your club should travel from the inside-hit the ball-then travel back to the inside. I would try putting a tee in the ground at address lined up with the heel of your club and the ball lined up in the center of the club face. Then your goal every swing should be to knock the tee out of the ground with the heel of your club. This is a good drill because it will give you the feel of turning your body up the plane in the forward swing rather than down a straight line.

Does this make sense?? It is kind of hard to explain without showing someone...
