Swing Video Analysis and Simulators

I have been out of the game for a while. I played a lot in high school, then went to college and essentially quit golfing for 4 years. Recently I have gotten the bug and want to get more serious than I was in high school. One of the things that I want to do is video tape my golf swing. I have never seen my own swing. Now that I have a job and some money I am looking for the equipment that I will need to do some more "high-tech" analysis (both hardware and software). I found a website for a company called P3ProSwing that makes simulators and swing analysis software. They use Logitech webcams for their video analysis kits. I have no clue what to look for though (is Frames-Per-Second the most important aspect?). What do you (or your teachers) use for video taping your swing?

I am also looking at the P3ProSwing simulators. They are about $1,000 for the sensors (bare bones), which doesn't seem to bad to me. Does anyone out there have a simulator set-up of your own? What do you have? How well does it work? And do you have any recommendations?

Thanks in Advance!

Re: Swing Video Analysis and Simulators

Personally, I'm not sure it's worth paying that money for your own swing analyzer. I got a training course at Golf-Tec for quite a bit less than $1000, and they do a full video analysis. They even give you the video's for future reference. So unless you plan on competing at a high level, having your own analysis tool seems like overkill.

That's just my opinion.

I also would like a video swing analyzer but $1000 is too expensive for me

A bunch of fancy gizmo's and monitors will not improve your game in the slightest. What does it really mean to you that your ball had a spin rate of 3300 rpm average vs 3100 rpm.

Send me your video, I do analysis all the time. I'll take you through 5 simple steps that will improve your game and you'll never even need a lesson.
