yeah first one is better...more athletic...but there's a difference in grip and I think the first one has his centers ahead of the ball while the other one is not so much ahead..."old school vs. new school"?
maop99 - good observation on that grip... but that's not why I think it's better. Aquelarre has it right.
Left elbow is in a better place and suggests he had a much better release of the club. #2 has a stronger grip and has to keep the clubface open longer through the swing forcing him to remain un-released through the ball. I also suspect that if we looked at their front foot, #1 would have his left foot flat on the ground and #2 would be rolled out a bit on his front foot.
The revealing thing I think is that the more and more I investigate the idea of finishing in a precise way, the less and less I have to think about what I'm trying to do with the golf swing.
It is not a fair equitable comparison, because one golfer is using a driver and the other is swinging, I think, a four iron....let me see a complete swing from both and both with the same club..
I get the feeling that the gentleman on the right has a swing with less tension and his finish is so much more relaxed. The grip on the first player would indicate to me that he is a big hitter and not necessarily a straight hitter. Bit hard to be definite without seeing backswing and alignment positions .
I'd bet that the yellow t-shirt guy is a straight hitter. He keeps his elbows rather joint until finish, that's a good thing whichever your swing school is.
We don't know the actual result of their shots, so we can only guess.
The first one looks so symmetrical. I can imagine the club staying on plane. His club position at the end has the club parallel to his shoulders. Just looks good.
