Need quick cure with irons

Got a big competition tomorrow, played today for practice, had problems with 6 / 5 irons (don't use 4 / 3)
Had a weak "slappy" type shot with the ball going well right and short.
Divots were straight so must have an open clubface. Any swing thoughts I can use on range before game tomorrow?

I guess it's a little late to offer any advice now? Sorry. How did you do though? Did you find the problem, and what did you learn from the experience?

Re: Need quick cure with irons

Had to live with problem in the competition, which didn't help the score, but finished mid-way in results so not too bad for 1st attempt.
Was nervous on 1st tee, made worse cos name and club was announced over loudspeaker.
But with everything shaking i put it straight down the middle with a utility so very relieved

Sounds like a very positive experience. You scratched out a good finish and without your "A" game. That's something to be proud of.
