I hit my 4 hybrid that far with no slice at all. If I go up to my woods I get a horrible slice that will go at least 30yds to the right of where im aiming. Question is should I just put up the woods and hit the iron off the tee? with all my golfing buddies. I hit the 4 iron maybe 20yds shorter than their drivers. I will get some video of my swing this week and post up for tips on my drives. thanks and I look forward to this website looks great. btw the avg. yards are figured by the hole distance and how far out I am after my tee shot. so yardage may not be right but I do hit it just 20yrs or less than all my golfing buddies and their drivers.

Go with what you have confidence in. It sounds like you have a lot of work to do with your woods, and until you get confidence in them stick with the hybrid. Also, don't worry about what your buddies are hitting or the distance they are getting. The only thing that matters is the score card. Hit the club that will allow you to post your lowest score.
I've been there before. I used to rail my 3 wood WELL past where my driver would have put me...that's IF I Kept my driver straight and didn't slice it. I can hit my 3WD on average around 230-240.
My advice is do what I did and get lessons and get that figured out and solved. I did it and I know can hit my driver with confidence.

You shouldn't bring to the course what you cannot hit straight so you are doing the right thing. I quite often tee off with my driving iron, which I hit around the same distance as you hit your hybrid. When I don't hit my driver well, my driving iron will be the longest club in the bag that I take out on the course. You should keep practicing driver on the range though.
If they all have the same type shafts, then your issue is obviously mental. So, like the previous posters have said, take to the course what you know you hit the straightest, regardless of distance loss, unless the FW in question is WIDE OPEN. Then, have an instructor look at your swing(s) and provide you a plan for fixing.
Play the course, not your friends. When I learned that, my scores went down. Now, even though I am almost always the longest hitter in any group I play, I hit driver on five holes at my home course. The first few times I played there, I hit driver on every hole except the par 3's and couldn't break 90. Now, I regularly shoot low 80's. Golf is about the number of strokes it takes to get in the hole, not who you out-drive on the tee.
That kind of distance off the tee with any club is great for most holes. Keep working with your driver and only use it on the occasional long par 4 or long par 5. You will probably score better that way.
yes they all have the same graphite shafts not sure on the stiffness I would have to look. maybe I am just swinging too hard with my woods. and the hybrids I am only swinging 75 to 85 percent. Im going to the driving range tomorrow to try some stuff. I will let you know what happens.
