Hitting Wedge Shots

I just purchased the TaylorMade 52* RAC TP Wedge...and I can't hit it for the life of me. Can you please give me some advice or things to concentrate on when using this club?

Thanks in advance.

alrite, one reason might be that its a different length than the other wedges, try adjusting the distance from the ball and where u grip the club. if that doesnt work try to place the ball differently in your stance, forward or backward.

Re: Hitting Wedge Shots

Thats seems just a little strange, assuming that you have and can hit both your Pitching Wedge and your Sand Wedge. The pitching wedge is probably 47/48 degrees and the Sand Wedge 55/56 degrees, so the 52 is not a radical change. Snejfelt may have hit the nail on the head, all of your wedges should be the same length, check it out for length. The only other thing I could think of is the club might have an offset built in, I know I picked up a 27 degree hybrid and couldn't hit the darn thing worth a hoot, till I finally realized there was an offset built in.

it's great to offer advice, but how do we know what this guys issue is? I would need to see the swing before I offer advice for fear that i might turn your issue into something bigger.

Nice! Wedges are a different animal than normal irons for sure. The guys here have given great advice. Like was said, move the ball no farther forward than center of your stance and probably it would be best to have it a little back of center. Compressing the ball is a big key as well. Scooping wedges is a big no no. What helped me was to start off with small half swings making sure to keep my wrist angle as I came into the ball. You also want to make sure that you accelerate through it instead of maintaining a steady speed.
