picking a pro for lessons

How would you go about picking a pro? I'm going to take a few lessons at my club, and I'm trying to decide between the head pro and the assistant. The head pro has been there forever, he's probably in his mid to late 50's and gives a lot of lessons. Not sure about the assistant, he's probably around my age (30) or younger, doesn't give as many lessons because he also has to work the shop. It seems the obvious choice is the head pro, but here's the rub:

The assistant seems like a genuinely good dude, he's always very friendly and seems very interested in your game, i.e. he's always asking how your round was, how's the game coming, etc. whereas the head pro won't even acknowledge you, he sports the whole "too cool" attitude. As much as I'd like to be able to play golf like him, I'm pretty turned off by his demeanor. Not that life's a competition, but I don't think his accomplishments warrant how he carries himself.

I'm looking to impove my game, not for a new best friend so perhaps I should overlook these things. Maybe he's more social with his students, but I think I'm leaning torwards taking some lessons from the assistant pro.

What would you do?

Before anyone suggests, I have thought about trying both but I would feel uncomfortable taking a lesson from one guy and then switching to the other. Is that rediculous?

Also, the cost is the same for either pro.

Re: picking a pro for lessons

If I told you that one of these guys has taken a job somewhere else as of now, never to return, and that your club is going to have only the remaining pro from now on for the next few years: Which one would you be hoping to have left your club? ......... Go with the other guy!
