Re: Stack & Tilt

I gave it a try twice this year...first time was a few months ago and the last time was last week...both times when I tried it in the range I had great results but both times when I took it to the course I played my worst games of golf!!
So I guess I've had it with the stack and tilt...(but one thing to take note is that I did the S&T with out any help from pros, just from the articles, I think no pro here in my country really knows how to teach the S&T yet)

Yep. I've been using this new swing for a few months now. It's a great swing style. As soon as I tried it out I knew the S&T was for me. I'm getting more consistent with my shots and most drives land on the fairway. My mid and short game has improved the most. The long irons are slowly getting there.

I've made the turn and have gotten just good enough that I traded my cavity backs for blades. Still shooting in the high 80's, and low 90's because of the change in clubs, but that will hopefully change in the months to come.

Here's a continuing thread about the S&T. Lots of pages and good information from the believers and naysayers alike.

Re: Stack & Tilt

Hey,

I tried the swing for a few rounds. It actually is somewhat natural for me because I have always struggled with too much weight on my left side. It allows for a player to worry less about weight transfer from the back foot to the front on the downswing, and keeps everything "centered".

I found it very consistent with a fade. Drawing the ball was more of a challenge when trying the S&T for the first time.

After a few rounds I stopped doing it. I'm no expert on it and wasn't exactly sure if what I was doing was correct.

I can tell you one thing about it though:

I have always loved Badds's swing because he stays centered so well and his HEAD DOES NOT MOVE AT ALL!

I also noticed, that when weir was stuggling prior to the switch, his head would drop on his backswing because he had too much weight on his toes. Watch him now, his head stays at the same height using the stack and tilt swing!!!

notice his head dropping here (slight): YouTube - Mike Weir - Down the Line

much Less drop here (more recent): YouTube - Mike Weir Driver Swing
