Three buckets doesn't make a swing...you need to practice the club on the range and the course to get good at it...and it doesn't happen overnight...
Looking at the video it looks like you are leaving your weight on your back leg and not staying down though the shot...keep your spine angle tilted forward all the way through impact, and get on that front foot!

Balance and relax, there is to much tension, relax and swing through to the finish, make your practice swing your swing and watch the ball rocket off the club.

I prefer the site where my video is.. Can you do slow motion on Youtube?
Anyways... I think my stance is too wide.. My downswing starts with the weight transfer.. but in order for my body to twist I have to transfer it back ...
If you watch the video in slow mo.. you'll see what I mean.
It looks like you might be coming over the top a little, therfore you probaly are slicing the ball or hitting a pull. There are some great ebooks out there that guarantee results. If you want to email me I can give you the website where you can find the ebooks. I got one on putting and the results have been pretty good. My email is drinkins@bellsouth.net
Good luck, steelersteve
You've got a lot of problems with that swing, and yes your stance is to wide. Do a search for Ringer and follow the links to his web site. Once there watch all of his video's. Also, the weight shift thing is called a reverse pivot. You want your weight to go back (on the right leg) on the back swing and then forward to the target with the swing (just like throwing a ball). You keep your weight (upper body) too centered on the back swing while the lower body is going back. On the down swing your weight has nowhere else to go but backwards because it's already forward. Again, think of it like throwing a ball. If you shifted forward to throw a ball your weight would have to go back to put any force in the throw. However, that throw wouldn't be as accurate or powerful as throw that starts with a backward weight shift and a loading of the right leg.
That's a pretty cool site there, nice frame by frame feature. The swing, sounds like the bases already got covered pretty much... one more thing is to get that arm extension going out a little more on the first and second frame after the ball leaves.
I would imagine your driver shaft is WAY different flex wise than your irons. I recommend you get your clubs charted for frequency and get a new shaft in the driver that matches up with the rest of your set.
I'd recommend graduating to your driver rather than jumping in like this. Get a 5 wood or 3 wood and play with those. They will be a lot closer to your 3 iron that you like and a lot easier to hit that the driver. When you are comfortable with a 3 wood, then start up with the driver. It may very well be that mechanically speaking your swing needs help, but I thought I'd suggest a simple approach to this problem.

I don't own a 3 or 5 wood.
New Baby + New House = No more new clubs (for a while)
I may see if I can get my father-in-law to hook me up with one of his throw-aways..
actually three wood can be a challenge to hit too, if you hit it off the deck. driver is easier to hit due to larger margin of errors provided by teeing it up.
