3 Wood off the deck

Cant seem to get my 3 wood up in the air. I have no problem off the tee. But, from the floor the ball flight is really low. Ball flight is normally straight/left only a few feet off the ground

Re: 3 Wood off the deck

Try moving the ball towards the middle of your stance. That should mean you are hitting the ball more in the middle of your arc and you will be hitting the ball more on your downswing, helping the ball 'pop' into the air.

Cock those wrists and hit down and stay down...take a small divot even, you'll see the ball pop up...just make sure your plane is not too flat...

Re: 3 Wood off the deck

If you need to get the ball in the air..get a little steeper..dont get too steep or you'll balloon the ball with a diviot.

im the opposite, I use my iron swing and hit the ball really steeply which cause ballooning, so i have to go flatter.

Re: 3 Wood off the deck

Ping G5 - Stiff shaft.

Had a practice up the range, Had a mate watching, he noticed as i move the club away, i was closing the face! Instead of rotating to toe up, i was going back closed, if i didnt flip my hands, i was hitting it with a severly delofted face!

Might pop back down tonight and give it another go. Playing Friday/Saturday & Sunday so no time to practice there :D

Re: 3 Wood off the deck

I recently changed to a Cobra LD 3W, and now I love it off the deck. I used to hit nothing but 10' high line drives with a 3w off the deck, this CObra really gets the ball up though.
