whats wrong with me???

lately ive been having this bizzare problem. Ive been hitting these massive slices. i know why people hit slices, either they get two fast off the top or they don't release properly-not my problem .My problem is in the backswing. when i take it back, its like i roll my hands too much and its wide open. ive worked tirelessly to try to fix it. but nothing works. its like when i start my backswing, i know im going to do it and cant stop it. its horrible. one thing ive been thinkin is like my grip is wrong. but i really dont know how to work my grip or fix my grip. ive had the same grip in my "good" golf swing before this happened, so it should be fine right? idk what to do, and since moneys low (im only 16, about to be 17 in December) we cant get lessons. its almost like i have this mental block, and i cant get through it. its so depressing. im really starting to get down right now, and quitting has even crossed my mind. so if you guys have any pointers please help. and, has this happened to anyone out there? or do you know anyone, and how they fixed it?

Re: help! bizzare problem

Have you tried keeping your arms inside your shoulders on the backswing. Do you turn and let your arms drift back after your shoulders stop?

Re: help! bizzare problem

Hi, I have a couple of thoughts -

One way to note on the backswing is the angle at which the hand is bending back at the wrist. The back of the hand should be straight with respect to the arm. If you wear a watch on the left hand. Stick a ruler under the watch band. This should keep your wrist stratight. By keep this straight, it prevents the club face to be opened at the top of the back swing.

On your swing, you can try your swing again but this time - a shorter backswing. See how this feels and work. A good reference is swing till your left arm is parallel to the ground.

Let us know your progress..... I am still learning as well.

Good luck

Re: help! bizzare problem

Hi,
You might consider this:
After reviewing your grip, alignment and posture and making any adjustments needed place a 30" two by four piece of wood on the ground parallel to your target line. Position a ball in the middle so that your 6 iron has about two inches clearance from the end and make a few easy swings making contact. Gradually move the ball closer to the board until you have about 1/2 inch clearance and increase your swing to your normal playing speed.

This drill will correct your path. You might not know why; but, your ball will straighten out or maybe even draw a little. Should that banana show back up later on break out that piece of wood and hit a few balls and your good to go.
Have fun!

I'm too lazy to type all the instruction you need. I have not sliced or had any other fault since I started using the instruction available at GOLF SWING MASTER KEY. I don't know if it will work as well for others, but it's only 6 bucks.
