Left thumb slippage

When I get about midway back into my back swing, my left thumb seems to extend/slide down the shaft and at the top it is fully extended. It's only been doing it recently and its really annoying. Has this happened to anybody and does anyone know why this happens?

glove too old? It doesn't happen to me, as my left thumb is under right hand grip, pretty secure.

Or, in the same vein, grips worn? Have you been keeping the grips clean? If they are rubber, soap and water does a good job, a rubber tire cleaner does a great job. If they are Winn grips, there are special instruction on the their website -- NOT soap and water.

Sorry to say this...*cringe*....Not gripping it properly? Next time you see a pro ask him to check it for you.

Good luck

Re: Left thumb slippage

It could be my grips because I haven't changed them since I bought them 3 years ago, but even on brand new grips it slips upwards. I'm a 2 handicap so I have a pretty good idea of how to swing a club but its just been recently that this is happening. I'll get another glove and try that out.
