Right hand position: Strong, weak, neutral?

First of all my left hand grip is strong and I use an overlap grip.

However, I was taking a lesson last week and my instructor commented on the position of my right hand. He said it was weak (my right thumb is about 10:00).
Becoming conscious about it, I started practicing with my palms 'facing each other' (so my right hand is more to the right - as opposed to on top of the club).
I do have to say that I am hearing the 'swoosh' of the club as it comes down with the 'new' hand position.

What is the effect of a strong versus neutral versus weak right hand?

Re: Right hand position: Strong, weak, neutral?

Possible can o' worms First off, if it feels good, do it...so long as it flies straight. That's the kind of adjustment that's considered "a tweak" and it can be a good thing for a while which, in golf, is a long time, so live it.

On the technical side...sounds like you could be "wrenching", or cramming the hands together in order to insure stability. A stronger grip will straighten a push or fade, assuming the normal release...all too often we anticipate Depends on what your ball flight is right now...without researching your posts, what is it you are trying to fix?
