Does the club shaft affect ball flight? I seem to have developed a very high ball flight with my woods and irons ever since I got new clubs. I have Cobra woods and Titleist 755 irons, and they both have regular flex shaft. Would a stiff shaft make my ball flight lower? Sometimes it seems like my ball just balloons up, especially with my driver. Any shafts designed for lower ball flights? I feel I am losing some distance on my clubs, especially by driver, with the high ball flight and excessive spin I put on it.
what kind of shafts do you have on your clubs? there are low, mid and high trajectory shafts. It'll help if you told us which shafts you have on your irons and woods.
There you go, the graphite design YS is a high launch shaft and it's 1/2 a flex softer than it stated.
Go try out the shafts that's a bit heavier and higher flex point, you probably don't need to go stiffer to have a lower ball flight. Shaft has everything to do with the ball flight.

Try hitting some tee shots using your present driver, but tee the ball up about 4 to 6 inches more back in your stance. I found that this helped me lower my tee shot ball flight height, and gave more total distance. Also eliminated slicing. This promtes more of a draw shot.

By heavier, do you mean 60g or 65g compared to my current 55g? What do you mean by higher flexpoint? I am not familiar with that.

Yes, you'll need to find out what is the right combination of weight to flex for your swing.
You want to have a heavier weighted shaft but not so heavy to influence your swing speed by too much.
Flex point = bent point, is where the shaft apex when bent, the mid to high bent point seems to produce a flatter ball flight than the low kick point, typically, a mid to high flex point shaft will also be heavier in weight ( in general ).
What shafts do you recommend for me to look at? Adilia, Fujikura, Grafalloy...?
So many good shaft out there but the point is to get a shaft to do what you expected it to do and not sacrifice performance for your swing.
I had a few drivers and 3 woods done by this guy which I recommend ( some were reshaft and some were built from components ), whom will answer your questions betterthan I could after you tell him what you need and want. PM me if you need to have the contact email and name.
This might save you some money and time, for you do not need to experiment by trial and erro.

Does it also depend upon technique? Angle of approach, upright versus flat, active versus passive hands, etc?
I seem to hit it high using anything from 'player's clubs' to game improvements when it comes to irons.
