Re: New Guy In Desperate Need!!

Not really in my knees, it's more of my back/side. my side feels like it's sticking way out on my backswing, and it feels as though I can't turn much at all. Could I turn my right foot clockwise a bit to get my body to turn a little more or will this just cause more problems?

It's not really a strain or pain, it's more like my body will not allow me to turn any further...

Re: New Guy In Desperate Need!!

Clockwise as in inward? Im not sure if that would be a good idea. Having turned outward seems to promote my turn.

A physio therapeuist (sorry spelling) told me that that the hip is strongest in an outward rotated position, meaning the toes pointing slightly open.

Probably a hot "debate" this, if you should have perfectly straight toes at address or a bit open toes. I personally mean your address and everything in the golfswing is personal, although some fundementals has to be there.

One more thing. Is your forward foot planted completely on the ground during the backswing? This might resist the turn because your hip turn gets restricted by your knees (possibly). This is also a controversial subject but I tend to let my foot come of the ground abit and planting it solid before the downswing starts..

Im curious too see what others think about this :)

Re: New Guy In Desperate Need!!

My left foot comes up naturally. I've played baseball my whole life, so I guess that's why it comes up. I've been told to keep it flat, but I lose a lot of balance when I do this...

I don`t think you have to keep it flat. But you have to have it flat coming through the golfball. All pro`s finish on a solid front foot and it ensures that the power is delievered through the ball and that you get consistent imact

Re: New Guy In Desperate Need!!

I played 9 a couple of days ago and tried to suggestions you guys have given me. Nothing really changed, I still sliced the ball to the right. Are there any other suggestions to help with a slice?

Re: New Guy In Desperate Need!!

I actually think your resisting to much with your head in the swing.

As I have heard your supposed to let the head by brought up by the natural momentum of the swing.

I have a feeling that if you keep your head still the club will cut the ball, but Im not sure. Hope others answers this as well
