weighted sleeve

Saw on tv the other day they have come out with a weighted sleeve to wrap around your own shaft. Looks like it is held on with velcro. Cannot see spending money on this when it looks like you can make one yourself. How about some ideas?

Re: weighted sleeve

I bought a weighted "sock" that fits up to a 460cc driver. I put it on my driver to help me loosen up before a round. Found it on eBay, and it has seemed to help with the first tee jitters. Hitting a long, straight drive on #1 is a nice way to start the round.
It's also good for increasing swing speed, and is weighted to promote a draw swing. If I happen across them again MC, I'll post a link to them in this thread so you can see exactly what I'm talking about.

Re: weighted sleeve

I bought a weighted donut, pretty much exactly like what I use on my softball bats, just smaller for a golf club. I think it was $2.99, maybe $3.99 at Golf Galaxy. Pretty cheap, really. There are plenty of alternatives -- tying a towel around the end is probably good enough. It won't weigh a lot, but the increased drag from the towel will make it seem like it is weighted. Something like this isn't worth $20, but I thought a few dollars was worth it.

Re: weighted sleeve

I've used the weighted donut for warming up taking long, slow swings with the driver before a round. But if you use this after you've teed off the first hole, there is a penalty.

I try everything. I bought it a couple of days ago. Sklz Power Sleeve. It was marketed by Ernie Els as the Tempo Timer.

It fits on every club in the bag.

I take practice swings and warm up with it but trying to swing a driver with the sleeve on was disastrous. I will try maybe on an iron before I try to do that again. It weighs 9.5 oz = 269 grams.
