Re: medicus helps with consistent swing?

Which Medicus product are you asking about? I am not a very good golfer, and my biggest problem was my driving. My scores suffer mostly from OBs off the tee. After working the duel hinge driver for maybe half an hour, the last 18 I played, on a 6500 yard course, I had one penalty stroke only, (from drawing a rescue shot into the water). I missed 3 out of 14 fairways (taking away the par3s). Almost all drives were dead center of the fairway, 290+ yards, no BS. So I am definitely pleased with the product, for now. Results are immediate, however, as far as consistency goes, I will have to be on the course a couple more times before I can say for sure, but right now, 11 our of 14 fairways seems pretty consistent to me. =)

Re: medicus helps with consistent swing?

I have the Medicus iron and the Refiner driver (hinged driver which is $60 cheaper, lighter and has a lower threshold to hinge when swung incorrectly).

These clubs help you get into a proper swing plane for a lot of folks. if you read other posts -some people love it and some people hate it. When I had the $h@nk$, I could still swing it perfectly so it is not a cure all. It is more for the upper body/arms aspect of the swing - not the lower body errors, per se.

It gives great feedback if you have improper tempo, tend to cast, tend to bring the club out of plane, or excessively open or close the clubface at any point in the downswing.

I have the old 5 iron Medicus with the smaller face and it really helped me learn to swing irons accurately and consistently. Prior to the Medicus I was hitting predominantly 5 and 7 woods over longer irons.

The Refiner driver is light and really helped me groove my driver and FW swing.

A cheaper alternative is the Swingyde (which I got for $10 on a clearance table) which works on every club in the bag.

Re: medicus helps with consistent swing?

I have the 5 iron. I used it when i first started to get the real rhythm of the swing. I use it every once in a while now to check up how im doing. It really does help a number of things. Over the top, wrist breaking down, follow through.
