Mental Dilemna with my 60 degree lob wedge

I have really been spending many hours practicing with my 60 degree wedge and on the course I do great and wen I am playing I cannot hit it the same way? I have spent hours at the range with the 10 yard, 20 yard and 39 yard shots but when I get on the course it will go everywhere but where I am aiming? Any ideas and can anyone relate to this....

Re: Mental Dilemna with my 60 degree lob wedge

I have these moments of brilliance where the club did exactly what I needed when I needed it. This happens about every 5th time I use it and last month it only happened every 10th time I pulled it out. Do I keep it in the bag and keep using it and "testing" it or do I give up and just play it safe with my 56 degree that does everything I need it to do without fighting me? I know if I can hang in there I will be rewarded but it is killing my golf score right now.... Thoughts?

I try to think of it being just like my 6 iron that I hit very well.
Try and have the same positive thoughts in your head when you hit it.
As soon as you start to think you might mess up the shot, you will.

Re: Mental Dilemna with my 60 degree lob wedge

If I am using a LW, or any wedge, I use a neutral grip or I even open up the clubface.

I place the ball in the middle of my stance for a 3/4 swing or just one ball to the right (right handed player) for a pitch.

My weight is even on both feet for a 3/4 swing and more on the left for a pitch.

3/4 swing I am square but for a pitch, I have an open stance.

I accelerate through the swing and hit down upon ball.

A few months ago, prior to some lessons, I was swinging the club and it was going under the ball.It went from my disaster/low percentage shot to my scoring shot.

I also use an undercut cavity wedge over the old blade wedge for more consistency with off centered shots.
