Balls going right

Hi, I am having problems with my shots going to the right. They are not slicing the are just going to the right. I know that it has to do with the face being open at impact but anyone know how I can fix this. My diviots are going straight down the target line. It doesn't happen all the time, but it is really hard to stand over a ball with confidence because I nevere know when it is going to happen. thanks

Re: Balls going right

I don't think that is it with me because most of my shots are on line. Just every once and a while the ball goes way right. I just never know when it is going to happen.

Re: Balls going right

I sometimes have that problem, it sounds like you are just pushing it.

And when I push it I normally look up to the right soon after impact and that for some reason makes me stop my hips.

So that could be it

Re: Balls going right

It isn't just an open club face.

Take your normal swing that goes straight, and open the club face and you get a fade/slice, not a push.

A push comes from a club face that is square to the swing path, with the swing path being inside out ... on the line of ball flight.

Re: Balls going right

how long is your driver?
It may be to long and this is likely the cause of you not being able to close the face. There is a reason most PGA players play 44-441/2" in lenght.
Go to a reputable golf shop and have them check your swing and adjust your driver. Hpe this helps

Re: Balls going right

Not sure how long my driver is, but the weird thing is that I don't do it with the driver. It is with the mid to short irons. My driver is a stock Callaway X460 so it would be standard length just not sure what that is. Thanks for the advise

Re: Balls going right

it does not seem to be the club face approaching the ball if you are not slicing. it could be the the ball is too far back in your stance. try moving the ball closer in line with your left toe.
