Check this out...I go to the course yesterday...the usual..nothing special..2 buckets of balls on the range...putting green for 20minutes...walk to the first tee..Tee it up..Right down the middle..No problem there...ever..I hardly ever practice hitting my driver..I just dont have problems with it..im blessed...lol
Come to my second shot..ive got about 136 to the hole..pull out my pw...im thinkin nice and easy...normal blah blah..Hit it..BAM..thin as ****..wow...lands off back of green..2 putt blah blah..par save for me..yay..next hole..same thing..right down the middle...this time..ive got about 160-163 to the hole..8 iron...BAM thin as **** AGAIN...this goes on all day...without my short game..im shooting 80+...but i pull a 70 out of the hat somehow...eagle on number 4 helps there..lol..long story short...
Problem: Im hitting all my irons thin..even my long irons wich for some reason i hardly ever struggle with...Its weird..Im not going after it or even swinging any harder than usual...Im just catching it thin..But i cant figure out what the problem is...Dunno if im rocking back on my heels or maybe not staying down through the ball..but i feel like neither is wrong...SOOOO..if anyone has any ideas..help me out...OH YEA...I hit it sweet on the range everytime..but who doesnt right?...but Ive gotta get this under control SOON..Ive got tournaments coming up then the state match play where i need to be on 100% NO DOUPT..So someone..Anyone...Advice???
I would lot rather get it on here then to go to someone and have to pay them 100 bux for them to tell me the same thing you guys would...
Mizuno..If you read this...Help me out bro...your advice for me usually works well..but anyone..feel free :)
My first lesson, my teacher told me that my fat and thin shots were caused by timing, and not to listen to anyone if I'm hitting it thin and they say to 'keep your head down'.
So, it is possible you are releasing a little late, wrists still cocked a bit causing the club head to be a bit higher off the ground at impact. Just something to think about. Now how to fix this, I have no idea.
Most likely you are not solidly balanced, lose your balance slightly on your downswing and straighten up to keep from losing your balance altogether...these are suble shifts, but I will bet you dollars to doughnuts that if you set up with you weight solid and swing within yourself you will make much better contact...
This happens to me when my right knee get ahead of itself or what i feel is it collapses as I pull thru the shot.
I also had this problem earlier in the year and noticed my posture and setup had me stretching a bit. I pulled the club a hair closer to my body and it was night and day.
Just a few things that worked for me in a similar scenario.
Thanks for the effort guys but got it worked out this weekend..I was pullin my left shoulder up for some reason..but got it fixd...now staying down and through the ball...best thing for me to do when this type thing hapens...video my swing and compare it to my good swings..lol
